Lots of consumers purchase yogurt daily at their local food markets with no thought about doing so. But, stop a moment to regard what goes into mass-produced yogurt. Unless the yogurt is organic, chances are that it includes things such as corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, aspartame, or sucralose.
Unfortunately, it is not uncommon for the ingredients in mass-produced yogurt are unhealthy, maybe even harmful. I.e., corn syrup and high fructose corn syrup are recognized as bad for individuals to consume. †Research supports the hypothesis that corn syrup and high fructose corn syrup may lead to type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, andcoronary artery disease.
Artificial sweeteners often have a taste of chemicals. †Some people are more aware of this, and don't desire the chemically flavor that yogurts containing these sweeteners often have. But, they may also do not want the exorbitant sweetness of mass-produced yogurts prepared with real sugar.
Individuals are also concerned about the fruits found in yogurt. †Unless yogurt is organic, there is a real threat of pesticide residue with the fruits used.
However, making the decision to make yogurt yourself means determine what goes into your body. When you make your own yogurt, you can add whatever ingredients you want. You can add fruits that you, yourself, have grown, that are organic, or washed using your own trusted method.
To sweeten your yogurt, you can make it as tart or sweet as you desire. Better yet, you can sweeten it with the sweetener you want. Do you prefer granulated sugar? Then use it! Do you prefer honey? Then, use that! It's up to you how sweet you you want your yogurt to be and what you include to attain its sweetness.
When you choose what ingredients go into your yogurt, then you control that aspect of your health. You can be confident that the only things in your yogurt are good for you. This doesn't even include the fact that yogurt you make has a far superior flavor over anything you can purchase in a store!
